Dr Liam Fox boldly boasted today of his 135 million pound contract to provide Britain with new war planes to replace a whole airbase full of warplanes currently located in Norfolk.
The reason for this bold boast? It will actually save money in the long run,
How? By not having to pay for pilots. For whilst being armed with weapons and guided by satellite technology, none of these warplanes have pilots, so the government can save on ‘staffing costs’.
But the fact that Sat Navs often send huge juggernauts down country lanes, that the ‘Reaper planes’ can, apparently, be directed over foreign fields from their base in Lincolnshire, that the human factor has been taken away from the missile’s fire button and knowing how many of Hitler’s V2′s completely missed their target, one cannot help but wonder if Liam Fox’s pride comes shortly before a fall.
And so the RAF pilots arrive at the local Jobcentre Plus and start queuing behind the ex police officers.
