With the american version of his show and his ‘Red or Black’ series not exactly hitting the ‘right notes’, it has been reported that Simon Cowell has ‘exploded’ after hearing his british ‘X Factor’ series is going down the pan too.
The show that was broadcast on Saturday 15th October certainly didn’t help with most performers singing ‘out of tune’, judges saying the same things over and over again, and over 2 million viewers voting ‘with their handsets’ by turning the rubbish off. This national move was reflected in the number of people who chose not to telephone in their vote.
This, believe it or not, is ‘music to my ears’ because far too many young people in the UK only want to be ‘famous’ because they believe it will bring them lots of cash, want no physical work and desire newspaper and magazine ‘inches’. If they were really honest with themselves (and us), they would admit it is because they think it is a ‘cushy little number that provides plenty of long lay-in’s’.
So Cowell (according to the tabloids) has ‘exploded’ at the 2011 judges for ruining his show. The problem is, it is he who makes good pop performers because he is a ‘music producer’, whilst three of the present ‘judges’ have spent all their time in front of the ‘mic’ or camera and the fourth judge is a middle-aged clown who gave the nation, ‘Jedward’ (as if that’s anything to boast about!).
Let’s all hope that ‘X Factor’ will soon go the way of ‘Red or Black’… and disappear up its own ad-break!
Time for a new Saturday autumn schedule on ITV please! Preferably without anything in it that looks like, ‘The X Factor’.
