Today’s train is the ‘William Burton’. Named after the new Mayor of Ely.
Burton claimed recently that it hadn’t even entered his head to leave the chairing of a Town Council meeting that was about to discuss the site of a CCTV camera even though the aforementioned camera was sited just two doors down from his own home.
He clearly wanted the CCTV camera to remain with its lens covering his home whilst his neighbour obviously didn’t. She having written to the Town Council telling them so and requesting for it to be moved somewhere else.
Mr Burton, not wanting to declare an interest nor wishing to see the camera moved from its present site, then acted as ‘judge & juror’ in the case and used his own ‘highly favoured’ position at the meeting to turn down his neighbour’s request.
