Or how many foreign tourists over here for the olympics won’t go home after it and will disappear into Britain’s Bernuda Triangle…
Or why London is being portrayed by our government as the ‘Control Centre of Britain’ when it’s only just one city in a collection of small islands….
Or how many hours you will sit in a London traffic queue whilst an empty ‘Games Lane’ lays empty beside you….
Or how many Martin Creed (arty-farty) bells you heard or didn’t hear at 8.15am today…
Or how Danny Boyle ends up portraying the ‘Isles of Wonder’… (don’t laugh)..
Let’s just enjoy it for what it is…. (Pause) (Even longer pause)….
…. Something for the Tories to mention in their 2015 election manifesto.
And for Boris Johnson to bombast at length about every time a microphone is placed under his nose.
It’s a total waste of money. Fact!
After all the flagwaving and ‘Rule Britiannia’ is done… it is much needed national funds and taxpayers money being spent on stadiums, tourist climbing frames, glitz, dancers and fireworks… right at the time when the poor need financial help the most.
Just remember as you settle down on your sofa to reflect on how good we are as a nation that a few miles further away from all the Coe inspired East London hype, young couples and children are living in slums in some multiple occupancy hellhole with no hope or chance of escape.
Why aren’t these people featured in Boyle’s opening ceremony?
I wonder why! Could it be that such things need to be hidden from the rest of the world in ‘Cameron’s London Business Plan’?
Those sorts of images don’t sell ‘Land Rovers’ or ‘Borisworld’, do they?
So enjoy the movie scriptwriters’ produced ‘London Show’ tonight….
