Once the largest photographic company in the UK, this 75-year-old Leicester-founded business went into liquidation today.
It therefore joins all of the other fully Ronsealed businesses (Woolworths, Comet, Courts, MFI, Clinton Cards etc. etc.) in ‘The Recession Museum’
Of course, one might ask why ‘Jessops’ is ‘going to the wall’ – especially when there is a camera on every phone, the Internet is full of cheap cameras and no-one needs to carry a series of one-metre long camera lenses in a massive bag.
But once one thinks about it…. one doesn’t have to.
