It’s ‘St Valentines Day’. The day when lots of men think to themselves, ‘I’d better get a card or I’ll never hear the end of it!’
Meanwhile lots of women sprinkle rose petals up stairs and around bedrooms and lay in wait naked on the bed… only to soon be surprised by the window cleaner and his chamois leather on a ladder.
From April, social housing tenants deemed to be under-occupying their bedrooms will be charged an ‘under-occupation penalty’ which will be deducted from their housing benefit entitlements.
This has been controversially called ‘The Bedroom Tax’.
A phrase so familiar with blokes who frequently have to pay the price for forgetting her card and chocolates.
